The Community Independents Project Zoom #4 – Dealing with Fake News, Attacks and Lies.

Tune into the conversation with Cam Close, Zali Steggall and Richard Denniss about what is fake news; why attacks happen; how to deal with lies.

The zoom will start at 6.30pm AEST and for those who wish to network the event will finish with 30 minutes of networking and casual conversation and close at 8.00pm (AEST).

The Community Independents Project is guided by a set of Expected Behaviours found on The Project website. The Project Zoom participants are asked to be guided by the same behaviours.

Cam Klose is communications, campaigns and policy professional with experience in designing and executing successful multi-platform campaigns. He prioritises working in community-based programs and campaigns, where he commits to participatory development and building grassroots power to enable communities to design their own progress.

Zali Steggall OAM MP is the federal independent member for Warringah. She has made her mark in Parliament and the country and is currently challenging the Government on its lack of climate policy with the introduction of the people’s Climate Change Bill. Zali will be tabling “Stop the Lies” Bill in October 2021.

Dr Richard Denniss is the Chief Economist and former Executive Director of The Australia Institute.  Dr Denniss is a prominent Australian economist, author and public policy commentator, and a former Associate Professor in the Crawford School of Public Policy at the Australian National University.
